We review Android apps and publish the verdict, favourable or not.
Most app listings are written by whoever wants the install. APK Critics exists to say the other part out loud, including when the answer is that an app is not worth the space it takes.
We look at what the app claims to do, whether it does that, what it asks for in return, and how it compares with the obvious alternative. Rating figures inform the verdict but never replace it.
Nobody pays for a review, a position, or a kinder verdict. If that ever changes it will be written at the top of every affected page in plain language.
Verdicts are opinions and opinions can be wrong. If you use an app daily and think we misread it, tell us what we missed and we will look again.
Modified builds, unlocked premium versions and repackaged apps. We review what the developer shipped, because that is the only version worth having an opinion about.
APK Critics is a small group that has installed, used and deleted an unreasonable number of Android apps. The verdicts come out of that, not out of a press release.
We cover a bounded catalogue on purpose. A verdict is only worth reading if somebody actually spent time with the app.
A review that never says no is not a review.
